What You Will Be Doing:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Transportation Coordinator to join our team. This position is responsible for the timely scheduling and tendering of outbound freight to meet customer delivery demands, corporate sales targets, and product supply availability. The role involves close collaboration with corporate supply chain representatives, 3rd party carriers, NPPC distribution centers, sister NPPC production plants, and customer distribution centers to ensure the smooth delivery of NPPC products.
Responsibilities:
- Work with corporate supply chain representatives, 3rd party carriers, and distribution centers to ensure on-time delivery of products.
- Select and manage cost-effective carriers for outbound loads.
- Schedule and track outbound/inbound loads to ensure on-time delivery.
- Capture and document reason codes for customer delivery information.
- Assist Transportation Manager with on-time reporting and other assigned reporting functions.
- Process customer orders, ensuring product availability through SAP and SAP TM.
- Procure carriers for delivered loads and facilitate pickup appointments for customer-managed loads.
- Monitor open orders, reschedule as needed, and manage trailer availability.
- Collaborate with warehouse teams to ensure achievable loading plans.
- Review product availability daily, investigate shortages, and seek process improvements.
- Execute and help solicit carrier capacity commitments and measure performance.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma.
- 2+ years of customer service experience in a manufacturing or transportation environment.
- Experience with web-based systems such as SAP and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong multi-tasking skills.
- Effective cross-functional communication with all areas of NPPC Supply Chain/Logistics.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Knowledge of SAP Transportation Management (TM) is a plus.
- Experience with appointment scheduling and customer order processing.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with remote teams.
- Critical Skill or Experience Needed:
- The most critical skills for this role are multi-tasking and the ability to work fluently with web-based systems like SAP and Microsoft Excel. This is crucial for managing outbound freight, ensuring on-time delivery, and supporting various supply chain activities.
Pay: 17.89 – $25.56 /hr.
