What You Will Be Doing:
We are looking for a skilled Systems Administrator to manage, implement, and support moderately complex components of our systems infrastructure and associated tools. This role involves providing issue resolution, performing disaster recovery exercises, and collaborating with customers, business partners, and engineering teams to develop and support IT solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system administration, particularly with Windows server technologies, and the ability to handle complex assignments and troubleshooting tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Test, implement, maintain, and support components of the systems infrastructure and associated tools.
- Provide resolution for moderately complex issues and perform disaster recovery exercises.
- Monitor multiple ticket/change queues and handle small to large, moderately complex assignments.
- Collaborate with system engineers to support solutions aligned with business goals.
- Monitor system events and perform initial remediation efforts for multi-platform applications.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems, and assessing impact.
- Implement change tasks, including patch deployments, software installations, and application upgrades.
- Conduct standard request fulfillment activities, such as server builds, system adjustments, and decommissioning.
- Serve as an internal escalation point within operations and facilitate task transitions within Platform Services.
- Utilize job submission application tools and follow operational best practices for deployment, support, and systems management.
- Create and maintain documentation related to transitioned tasks and global processes.
- Recommend and implement improvements for Platform Services and suggest new procedures and processes.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 2+ years of system administration experience with Windows Server 2012 – 2019.
- Knowledge of Windows Server technologies, including Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
- Strong analytical and root cause analysis skills.
- Understanding of operating system theory, core infrastructure, third-party software products, and client/server hardware.
- Experience with installing system patches.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Commitment to incorporating security into all decisions and job responsibilities.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Associate degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Management Information Systems, plus additional related experience.
- 6+ months of experience with UNIX and Linux server technologies.
- Experience with system management tools such as WSUS, SCCM, SCOM, and SCORCH.
- Experience in packaging Windows applications using SCCM.
- Certifications or experience with virtual infrastructures (e.g., VMware) and cloud infrastructures (e.g., Azure, AWS).
- Basic experience with middleware software such as Weblogic and Tomcat.
- Knowledge of Agile methodology and tools like Jira and Confluence.
- Experience with Office 365.
Additional Note:
- Availability for 2nd shift hours (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM, Tuesday through Saturday evenings).
Pay: $25.20 – $36 /hr.
