Technology Partners is currently seeking a talented Software Engineer – Machine Control & Automation (Mid-Level). What You Will Be Doing:

Join our Global Breeding Automation Engineering Team as a Software Engineer – Machine Control and Automation. We are at the forefront of creating advanced systems for digital agriculture, focusing on geospatial, connected, automated, and cognitive technologies. We aim to revolutionize field and lab technologies and deliver groundbreaking products. As a member of our Field Systems team, you will be integral in developing the next generation of automated R&D field equipment. Your role will involve requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and support of research control software systems. These systems will encompass data acquisition, machine control, cloud connectivity, process control, and user interaction. Additionally, you will provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers within a cross-functional team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and support research control software systems
  • Lead requirements gathering and project planning
  • Manage and prioritize work within a small, multi-disciplinary team
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex software and hardware issues
  • Develop networked systems for data acquisition and communication

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 4+ years of experience in developing automated/control systems.
  • Strong software development skills, with proficiency in C#, C++, C, or Python.
  • Experience in developing multi-threaded/process applications/services.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills.
  • Knowledge of modern development concepts and practices (OO principles, unit testing, agile development, TDD, continuous delivery).
  • Experience with network protocols such as TCP/UDP, MQTT.
  • Experience with software projects that span multiple team/company boundaries.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Experience developing IoT and data-driven systems.
  • Proficiency in MS technologies such as Visual Studio .NET, WPF, WinForms.
  • Familiarity with serial communication standards (RS422, RS485, RS232).
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (Oracle, SQLite, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, Cassandra).
  • Familiarity with modern development tools (Git, CVS, Subversion, Jenkins, NuGet, JIRA, Aha, Azure DevOps).

Pay:  $44.8 – $64 /hr.
