Technology Partners is currently seeking a talented Software Engineer, Machine Control and Automation. What You Will Be Doing:

As a Software Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting our research control software systems. These systems involve data acquisition, machine control, cloud connectivity, process control, and user interaction. You will also play a key role in setting technical direction, mentoring junior engineers, and coordinating tasks within the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and support research control software systems for automated R&D field equipment.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team to drive software development through all phases of the product lifecycle.
  • Participate in project planning, requirement gathering, and work organization to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex software and hardware systems.
  • Develop networked systems that communicate with data-generating devices and data aggregation services.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 4+ years of experience in developing machine-to-machine (M2M) and electromechanical automation system software in C#, C++, C, or Python.
  • Experience developing multi-threaded/process applications/services and understanding the common constructs and associated patterns.
  • Strong software development skills, including modern concepts like object-oriented principles, unit testing, agile development, TDD, and continuous delivery.
  • Proficiency in network protocols such as TCP/UDP, MQTT, and serial communication standards like RS422, RS485, and RS232.
  • Experience with software projects that span multiple teams or company boundaries.
  • Experience developing applications on multiple operating systems, such as Windows, Linux, iOS, Mac OS, and Android.
  • Strong system (software and hardware) troubleshooting and debugging skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a data-driven approach to decision-making.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Experience developing IoT and data-driven systems.
  • Proficiency with MS technologies, including Visual Studio .NET, WPF, WinForms, and console applications.
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL database technologies like Oracle, SQLite, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
  • Familiarity with development tools such as Git, CVS, Subversion, Jenkins, NuGet, JIRA, Aha, and Azure DevOps.

Pay:  $44.10 – $63 /hr.
