What You Will Be Doing:
We are seeking a skilled Software Developer to join our team and lead the implementation of a new workflow in our in-house Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). This role is crucial for automating lab processes and integrating modern technology into our laboratory operations. If you have experience in software development, Java, and AWS, and are passionate about creating innovative solutions, we invite you to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with lab analysts and scientists to understand and enhance lab functionality.
- Gather requirements, streamline workflows, and improve the overall efficiency of lab processes.
- Develop and maintain the codebase for our in-house LIMS application using Java and Spring.
- Ensure successful deployment of software within the AWS environment.
- Conduct comprehensive testing (functional and non-functional) before production deployment.
- Provide ongoing maintenance, updates, and support for the LIMS application post-deployment.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant software development experience.
- Proficiency in Java and Spring for web application development.
- Experience with relational databases such as Oracle and PostgreSQL.
- Strong skills in testing with JUnit and Mockito.
- Familiarity with version control tools like Git and Maven.
- Experience with front-end development frameworks (e.g., AngularJS, React, Node.js).
- Proficiency with AWS services including S3, Fargate, and Lambda.
- Experience with REST APIs.
- Agile software development team experience.
- Proficient troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- Experience deploying applications across various environments (development, test, production) with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with continuous delivery platforms like Jenkins, AWS CodeDeploy, or AWS CodeBuild.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5-10 years of relevant experience.
- Background in agriculture/biotechnology IT projects.
- Familiarity with IoT technologies for process information collection.
- Experience with NoSQL data stores like MongoDB, DynamoDB, or Neo4J.
Pay: $52.50 – $75 /hr.
