What You Will Be Doing:
We seek an experienced IBMi RPG Developer to join our software development team in Jefferson City, MO. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in application development in the IBMi environment using the RPG language, with a strong understanding of the iSeries/AS400 database, software development life cycle (SDLC), and data mapping. This position requires onsite work at the Jefferson City Correctional Center, with some remote work possible after an initial orientation and training period.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the OPII application, including user screen functionality, back-end databases, and sub-programs/routines.
- Add new values to database tables, modify screens to include additional fields, and maintain database dependencies and programmatic rules.
- Address any impact or effects of value changes on other OPII system functionality, such as reports or behind-the-scenes functionality.
- Document and update specifications, data relationships, and maintenance efforts and findings.
- Work with a software development team that includes offender (inmate) developers in the same manner as any other development team.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 8-10 years of experience in application development in the IBMi environment using RPG language.
- Strong experience with iSeries/AS400 database.
- Familiarity with SDLC processes.
- Excellent abstract thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Experience creating/updating documentation and data mapping.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Outstanding communication skills.
- Independent/self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team.
Pay: $43.05 – $61.50 /hr.
