Technology Partners is currently seeking a talented Geospatial Software Engineer with GCP Focus. What You Will Be Doing:

Your role will be pivotal in enhancing spatially enabled and highly digitized field workflows, catering to the needs of R&D, product supply, commercial, and grower customer fields. You'll be instrumental in driving the integration of digital solutions for the farm of the future, fueling advanced product analytics, automated crop scouting, phenotyping, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain cloud and open-source systems for processing geospatial data assets through an API-based platform.
  • Collaborate with internal development communities to integrate necessary data sets and make data accessible to Bayer Enterprise and internal development teams.
  • Construct highly scalable APIs and associative architecture capable of supporting thousands of requests per second.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance Bayer's understanding of environmental influences on field performance and risk factors.
  • Engage in all stages of the software life cycle: Proof of Concept, MVP, Production, and Deprecation.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Python, Java, Go, or similar languages.
  • Proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as Go, Scala, Java, JavaScript, SQL, Bash, Python, and R.
  • Experience developing HTTP APIs (REST and GraphQL) within a cloud environment.
  • Ability to architect and maintain modern cloud infrastructure, e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, etc.
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL/PostGIS and code versioning systems like GitHub, SVN, and Maven.
  • Demonstrated success in utilizing Docker for building and deploying within a CI/CD Environment, preferably with Kubernetes.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Knowledge of open-source geospatial solutions like GeoServer, GeoTrellis, and GeoMesa.
  • Experience with stream processing technologies such as Kafka.
  • Advanced proficiency (4 years) in GoLang.
  • Experience collaborating with customers/developers in Agile environments to deliver full-stack development solutions.
  • Familiarity with agriculture and/or agriculture-oriented businesses.
  • Proven expertise in implementing complex data projects, focusing on collecting, parsing, managing, and delivering large data sets.
  • Proficiency in adapting to new technologies and making informed decisions on hardware and software designs.
  • Experience with object-oriented design, coding, and testing patterns, along with engineering software platforms and large-scale data infrastructures.
  • Proficiency in creating cloud computing solutions and web applications leveraging public and private APIs.
  • Demonstrated experience (2 years) with distributed systems such as Argo, Kubernetes, Spark, distributed databases, and grid computing.
  • Proficiency (4+ years) in working with Command Line Interface systems like Docker, Argo, K8s, AWS CLI, GCloud, pSQL, and SSH.

Pay:  $84 – $120 /hr.
