What You Will Be Doing:

We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Freight Coordinator to manage the validation, dispute resolution, and auditing of freight bills for import and export vendors. This role will collaborate closely with our Supply Chain organization to address payment issues and disputes for ocean, dray, and customs broker vendors. The Coordinator will ensure accurate and timely payments while maintaining vendor statements of account (SOAs). Additionally, the role will serve as a key liaison between internal teams and the Accounts Payable department.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage exceptions related to import and export freight and customs clearing payment charges.
  • Oversee ocean and dray vendor accounts, ensuring timely resolution of disputes and exceptions in compliance with contractual terms.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and problem-solving for disputed or rejected items, and implement process improvements to ensure timely vendor payments.
  • Provide insights on vendor billing performance and collaborate cross-functionally to maintain accurate freight conditions on purchase orders.
  • Act as a liaison between the Import and Export team, procurement, vendors, and the accounts payable team to resolve disputed items.
  • Reconcile accounts by identifying errors in postings or omissions.
  • Handle vendor correspondence related to SOAs, ensuring consistent and timely follow-ups.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Associate degree minimum, undergraduate degree preferred, in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, or Business.
  • Experience in accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and customer service preferred.
  • Familiarity with SAP preferred.
  • Knowledge of transportation processes and billing complexities.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multitask and solve issues proactively.
  • Understanding of transportation systems and billing complexities.

Pay: $15.23 – $21.75 /hr.
