What You Will Be Doing:
We seek an Engineer 2 – API to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and shape the future of our data services architecture.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop a next-generation services layer for data access and integration using AWS serverless components.
- Implement best practices in API design, development, and utilization on cloud platforms.
- Lead design sessions, conduct code reviews and participate in system testing phases.
- Drive efficiency and reusability through the creation of extendable service components.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to provide viable recommendations for new solutions and refine development processes.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for integrating applications with data assets and collaborate with various teams to address inquiries.
- Ensure security compliance during external and internal audit processes.
- Participate in on-call responsibilities as part of a shared team rotation.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Java-based software development.
- Expert-level experience with Python.
- Proficient experience with RESTful web services, AWS Lambda, and API Gateway.
- Knowledge of API security frameworks such as AWS Cognito, OAuth, JWT, etc.
- Proficiency in querying various data sources including APIs, RDBMSs, document stores, etc.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field.
- AWS Certifications: Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect (Associate), Developer (Associate).
- Experience with CI/CD frameworks and GIT (Bitbucket preferred).
- Familiarity with event-based services like SQS, SNS for data integration patterns with applications.
Pay: $56 – $80 /hr.
