What You Will Be Doing:

The Mid-Level Data Engineer will lead and participate in design sessions with Engineering teams, Data Scientists, Product Managers, and IT stakeholders to develop data processing, storage, and delivery solutions. This role involves evaluating new technologies, implementing data solutions, and mentoring junior engineers. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in data engineering and cloud technologies, along with excellent communication and organizational skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and participate in design sessions to create documentation for data solutions.
  • Understand and apply business needs to define IT solutions and solve business problems.
  • Evaluate new technologies, perform POCs, and provide technical recommendations.
  • Establish and improve processes and methodologies, including SCRUM or Kanban.
  • Implement data solutions using tools and languages like AWS, GCP, Kafka, SQL, Python, Scala, Go, etc.
  • Facilitate code reviews, retrospectives, and testing to improve delivery quality.
  • Provide estimates for large-scale projects and collaborate on roadmap planning.
  • Mentor junior engineers and facilitate cross-team efforts, including Scrum of Scrums and Release Planning.
  • Maintain design and code documentation in repositories like GitHub, Haystack, and SharePoint.
  • Communicate complex analysis clearly to various audiences and deliver presentations.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Degree in Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Strong experience with data modeling using R, Python, or other statistical/mathematical programming packages.
  • Experience with data-intensive software engineering, streaming, and resource-based design.
  • Expertise in software development best practices (Version Control, Code Documentation, Cloud-Based Analysis, Database Management).
  • Experience with cloud-native data warehouse databases (e.g., BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake).
  • Proficiency with DevOps methodologies and cloud technologies (e.g., Kafka, Spark, AWS SQS, Lambda, GCP PubSub).
  • Advanced business acumen, project leadership, and technical expertise.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong Power BI and Power Apps development skills.
  • Experience with global multi-disciplinary teams and creative problem-solving.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of experience or Master’s degree with 4 years of experience.
  • SQL (4+ years), Power BI (4+ years), Python (4+ years), GCP BigQuery (4+ years), and Data Governance (4+ years).
  • ETL – Informatica (4 years), Teradata (4+ years), Advanced Excel (7+ years), Power Apps (2+ years).

Pay: $47.60 – $68 /hr.
