Bio: I’m Jyotsna Gupta, Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Bi-State Development Agency. I’m known for creating real impact through purpose-driven leadership and solving complex problems with strategy, creativity, and empathy.
Growing up in a small town in India, I developed a spirit of curiosity and problem-solving while exploring my garden full of fruit trees. My childhood was filled with artistic pursuits, from painting to turning waste into art—experiences that taught me creativity often outweighs having the perfect tools.
My career began in quality assurance, where I taught myself automation scripting, significantly improving deployment times. This sparked my journey in driving innovation and building strong teams.
I’m passionate about helping others grow, mentoring teams in technical skills and leadership. I believe that understanding the “why” behind our work fuels our best efforts.
One impactful lesson from my father was about planting a mango tree for future generations, reminding me that legacy matters and the seeds we plant today can nourish others tomorrow.
What I love most about my work is the sense of purpose I bring each day. I aim to connect strategy, technology, and transformation to make meaningful progress.
Outside of work, I’m a proud mother of two. My daughter inspires me with her perspective, reminding me to lead with empathy. I believe in taking smart risks and making progress through thoughtful action.
Something Extra: "We are covered with layers and layers of different things, and it could be opinions, judgment, situations that mask you from your true potential. You have that in you, and you just have to uncover it. You have to chisel away and find your true self."
