This week, we sit down with Dwight Scott, President and CEO of the Saint Louis Zoo. With over 30 years of experience in zoo management, Dwight’s journey began as an Animal Keeper at Kansas City Zoological Gardens and took him through leadership roles at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and the San Diego Zoo. Tune in for an inspiring conversation about leadership, innovation, and the mission to protect wildlife.

Bio: In January 2022, Dwight Scott was appointed Dana Brown President and CEO of the Saint Louis Zoo. Prior to the Saint Louis Zoo, Scott was the Executive Director of the San Diego Zoo from 2013 to 2021. He started his zoo career in 1994 as an Animal Keeper at Kansas City Zoological Gardens, and has also held positions at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Oklahoma City Zoological Park and Botanical Garden, and Tulsa Zoo and Living Museum.

Scott received his Bachelor of Arts degree in liberal arts with a concentration in anthropology from the University of Missouri, Kansas City. In 2019, he received the Alumnus of the Year Award from the university. Scott currently is on the board of directors of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). He previously chaired the AZA Board of Ethics and the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International Board of Directors.
