Bio: Christy Barker is Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Olin Corporation. Since joining Olin in 2016, she defined the IT strategy, led Olin’s global technology and business transformation, established the IT operating model and implemented Olin’s business and manufacturing technology platforms improving overall efficiencies, performance and analytical capability. Additionally, she is responsible for the full stack of technology operations and cybersecurity. Christy is passionate about lifting people, creating a culture of transparent communication, trust, and supporting volunteerism in the St. Louis community.
Before joining Olin, Christy served as divisional CIO for Israel Chemical Limited (ICL), responsible for leading its global IT transformation program and establishing business shared services for ICL in Europe. She previously served in various IT and leadership roles at Monsanto, her entrée to the chemicals industry.
Christy is the recipient of a 2018 Stevie Award for Leadership in NextGen Technology, the 2019 Stevie Award for Digital Transformer, and the 2023 St. Louis CIO of the Year. She was also a finalist in the prestigious National Orbie CIO of the Year award in 2023. She holds a bachelor’s degree in information systems from Missouri State University and a MBA from Webster University. Christy serves on the chemicals advisory committee for SAP, the executive committee for St. Louis’ Gateway to Innovation, and advisory board member of the St. Louis chapter of InspireCIO.
