Bio: Dr Randall Zindler is the Co-Founder of the Regenerative Alliance. Randall was the group CEO ( 2003-2011) of the international NGO Medair with nearly 2,000 staff, which brings humanitarian assistance to the most remote and difficult to access people in the world. He then transitioned to an academic/consulting career and joined the faculty of Lancaster University Management School, UK, where he is engaged in delivering executive education on issues related to leadership, governance and strategy.
Earlier in his career he worked in marketing with the Credit Suisse Group, and in leadership development with the Swissair Group. Randall has demonstrated a lifelong passion for responding to the needs of the most vulnerable. He once cycled solo across North America to raise awareness about hunger and poverty. During the 1990s, he responded to a variety of humanitarian needs in Africa, including food distribution and reunification of children with their families in Rwanda after the genocide.
His education includes Bachelor's degrees in Management from the University of Wisconsin, and in Geography from Minnesota State University. He received an MBA at the University of Lancaster, UK, in partnership with the University of St. Gallen (HSG), Switzerland. He earned a Diploma in Disaster Management at the University of Wisconsin, Dept. of Engineering. He earned his doctoral degree, on the theme of responsible leadership and leadership transition, from the Management School of Grenoble.
He served for six years as both Vice-Chair and Chairman of EU-CORD, a network of European-headquartered international humanitarian organisations. He held several Chairman roles within the Medair group and led reforms of the governing system across the international structure. He has been a member of the Advisory Board for Lancaster University Management School and has been in the Consultation Group of the World Economic Forum for the Davos agenda for Civil Society. He is currently on the Advisory Board of B-Lab Europe, the organisation which serves the B-Corporation movement; the Advisory Board of Oxford Analytica, a research and advisory firm; and is Chairman of Mercy Ships (Switzerland), the largest NGO hospital ship serving vulnerable people with surgical needs along the coast of Africa.
Within YPO he has been Chapter Chair of Gold Alpine. He has also Chaired the Social Engagement Network (umbrella of six networks) and is Founding Chair of the YPO Thriving Communities Network. Randall has championed international events such as YNG+Impact, Family Business Meets Strategic Philanthropy, The Power of Forgiveness, and other events with the Financial Services Network, SEN and others.
Randall has been a delegate at the World Economic Forum annual gathering in Davos, Switzerland. He is a featured speaker at various events and universities. He is the recipient of Distinguished Alumni Awards. Currently residing in Lausanne, Randall has both Swiss and US citizenships. He is married to a Swiss pediatrician, with whom he has four young children.
