Bio: Mary Jo Gorman brings established leadership capabilities as an independent director, chief executive, and healthcare founder.

She has a proven record of launching and growing four companies that created value for investors in the health care services sector.

Dr. Gorman serves on the board at Check-cap (NASDAQ: CHEK), a medical diagnostics company and is on the audit, compensation, and nominating committees. She has served on and led multiple healthcare boards including Advanced ICU Care, Curavi Health, Triple Care and currently, Healthy Bytes, where she is the Chief Executive Officer.

She is currently serving as the CEO of Healthy Bytes, a tech enabled services company in the nutrition market. This venture backed, early stage company is transitioning to a new revenue and delivery model. At Triple Care, a multi-state telemedicine company in the post-acute facility space, she was asked by the PE investor to evaluate the company’s opportunities. She developed a comprehensive plan and executed sales and revenue growth, and successfully sold the company to Curavi Health Inc., a portfolio company of UPMC Enterprises in Pittsburgh.

In 2014, Dr. Gorman and a group of partners started Prosper Capital. This fund invested in the healthcare, technology, and consumer product industries. In her role as lead managing partner, she actively advises, takes board roles, and assists with funding strategies.

Her work has led to numerous recognitions: ‘Top 25 Influential Women in Healthcare’ by Modern Healthcare Magazine (2009), one of ten in E&Y’s national Entrepreneurial Winning Women program (2011), distinguished alumni award of Washington University Olin School of Business (2013), as well as St. Louis University and Southern Illinois University School of Medicine (2015).

In addition to her professional career, she is active in the not-for profit community: Marian Middle School, an all-girl middle school that educates disadvantaged girls, Washington University Olin School of Business, and the Investment Advisory Committee of the Biogenerator. Dr. Gorman earned an MBA from Washington University’s Olin School of Business in St. Louis, her medical degree from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, and a BA in Chemistry/Biology, cum laude, from St. Louis University
