Episode 070: The Credibly Piece with Don Imholz

In this week's episode with Lisa, Don Imholz reveals why credibility and integrity carry such an immense weight within your organization as he recounts his experience as former CIO of Boeing and Centene Corporation respectively.

Bio: Don is on the Board of SSM Health, a $7B health care system with hospitals in 4 states, a Pharmacy Benefit Manager and a HealthPlan; is a Board Advisor to Unigroup, Inc., a $1B+ logistics company; and on the Investment Board of Cultivation Capital Tech Fund. Don serves on the boards of non-profits including Family Forward; the Leadership Council for the University of Missouri – St. Louis (UMSL) Business School; the Advisory Council for the Sever School for the Washington University (WU) Engineering School; and the WU External Advisory Board on Information Technology (IT).

Don’s past Board work includes Casenet (a case management software company), and Centurion (the largest private provider of health services to the Corrections Industry), as well as Board roles with non-profits. Mr. Imholz is founder / CEO of Don Imholz and Associates, providing strategic consulting. He has worked in industries such asfinancial services, utilities, manufacturing, HR services, logistics, education, and healthcare; and is a frequent speaker on leadership, transformation, digitization, and agility.

Don retired from Centene (CNC) in 2015 having been EVP, Operations and CIO, and supporting Centene’s growth from $3B to $21B+ in 7 years moving it from a niche to industry-leader position; and establishing it as a leader in digital engagement, business analytics, and cybersecurity. Before CNC, Don worked for McDonnell Douglas (MDC) and then Boeing (BA) in diverse executive roles in technology, finance, and manufacturing. Returning to IT at the MDC merger, he was a key contributor to the consolidation, and, post-merger, advanced to being the CIO for all of BA Defense and Space, a $30B entity. He later led all of global app development, with a 5,000+ person organization and $1b+ budget. Don earned a BSBA from UMSL, then a Master in Info Systems and an EMBA from WU. He has also been recognized by the WU Olin Business School as one of its Distinguished Alumni.

As of February 2020, Don is currently Clayco's interim CIO.
