What You Will Be Doing:
The company is looking for a talented Software Engineer to join our eCommerce Catering team. The team is responsible for new feature development and maintenance of an AngularJS & Vue hybrid SPA. We’re currently incrementally migration from AngularJs to Vue. The ideal technical fit would have experience building responsive, efficient and fast-loading websites. This candidate should excel in basic front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES5). In addition, have the ability to work with the latest modern front-end technologies and frameworks, for example: SPAs, build tools, component libraries, CSS preprocessors, ES6, TypeScript. The candidate should be confident starting projects from scratch, configuring build tools and project settings. Previous experience migrating front-end applications between frameworks is a big plus. The ideal cultural fit would have a relentless continuous improvement mindset with the ability to learn new skills quickly. Is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and has an agile mindset, adapting to changing requirements and priorities. Has the ability to work with loose requirements, uses their own sound judgment to fill requirement gaps and make decisions to move projects forward. Is self-motivated to stay current on new technologies and try new things. Passionate about writing clean, organized and well-tested code and bug-prevention in production. You will develop new user-facing features and build reusable code for future use. Debug, triage, manage and prevent production issues. Long term technical debt resolutions, debt prevention and code reviews. Optimize applications for speed, scalability and security. Collaborate with other team members. E.g. QA, UX designers. Research and develop POCs, participate in technical ideation phases. Provide technical mentoring to colleagues.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in front-end development
- Less years may be acceptable given mature technical skillset
- Proficient in HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript.
- Experience with CSS preprocessing frameworks (LESS or SASS)
- Experience with SPA framework(s) & willingness to learn new ones (Angular, Vue.js, React)
- Experience configuring front-end build & development tools (e.g. Webpack)
- Experience writing unit tests (e.g. Mocha, Jest)
- Understanding of CSS flexbox, grid layouts, mobile first & responsive design.
- Understanding of ADA compliance and SEO principles
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Experience with CICD principles is a plus.
- Experience with Java and Spring Boot is a plus.
- Experience with Node.js (Express) is a plus.
- Experience with Adobe Experience Cloud (AEM, Launch, Analytics, Target) is a plus.
- Experience with DynaTrace, Splunk, NeoLoad, Chef, Habitat, Jenkins is a plus
