What You Will Be Doing:
You will own the Release Management lifecycle for our products, which includes scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases across the enterprise for multiple applications across the team portfolio. The releases can be inclusive of application updates, operating system patches, Projects, and Programs. Where necessary youll provide tools and services to help product management and project teams manage and deploy releases into production. You will interface and communicate with Test Managers, Lead Developers, Scrum Masters, Digital Product Leads and Business Analysts. As Release Manager, you must be confident enough to manage up and provide reporting as well as meeting updates to the senior IT management and business management. You will be responsible for implementing and managing release processes from code through development, test, and production environments. The Release Manager Job function works collaboratively with all participants in software development projects. This position also works with IT management to improve the software engineering processes and practices associated with continuously building, deploying, and updating software and environments. You will work closely with the Scrum Masters build, manage, and maintain the Release Calendar/Schedule across the portfolio, creating a centralized view of all planned releases. You will lead the effort of defining the IT strategic direction for release management tools for IT to ensure the process requirements of release management are built in. You will assist in providing visibility to project interdependencies across the portfolio to help maintain a consistent release cadence. Forward Plan the release windows and cycles across the portfolio. Ensure alignment and expectations of business roadmap objectives with known team delivery capabilities in the development and communication of realistic delivery schedules. Produce and maintain Release and Deployment Plans. Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality. Measure and monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and meet or exceed expectations. Coordinate release content and effort based on the service request backlog, pending service requests, third party applications or operating system updates. Communicate all key project plans, commitments and changes including requirements, QA plans, schedule, and scope changes. Conduct Scrum of Scrums cross-squad meeting, Operational Team Alignment meeting, and Business Go/No-Go reviews. Communicate release details and schedules to the Business as required. Negotiate, plan, and manage all release activities
Continually work towards making improvements in the release process. Lead and co-ordinate the Go-Live activities including the execution of the deployment Plans and checklists. Maintain a release repository and manage key information, such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists. Own the security scanning process – PF security scan POC with Team and digital security. Understand security scan guidance and ensure team compliance. Provide initial review of security scan results for the seven (7) domains scanned for each release. Endure Static scan submission are submitted on time for each planned release. Create, edit, and update Global Security Azure board tasks for each domain for each release. Request Release approval form Global Security. Create initial Jira bug issue for valid FOD vulnerabilities. Work with dev leads to review and develop mitigation plans and timing to fix issues. Create and submit support tickets to have false positive vulnerabilities suppressed from scan find.
