What You Will Be Doing:
You will conceptualize and develop new software programs and applications. Liases with Project Leaders, Business Analysts, Integration Analyst, and other team members to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems. Prepares and documents program requirements and specifications. Conducts research on and recommends emerging application development software products, tools, languages and standards in support of procurement and development efforts. Searches, summarizes and keeps the team abreast of strategic information from all sources. Assists upper management with long-range planning in accordance with the business strategic plan. Provides technical training, guidance and resource support for unit staff. Performs effective mentoring of junior staff members. Provides recommendations to management concerning issues of programmer productivity and software development processes. Consistently writes, translates and codes software programs and applications according to specifications. Runs and monitors software performance tests (including Unit, System, Integration, Performance, and ad-hoc trouble-shooting) on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement and general debugging. Administers critical analysis of test results and delivers solutions to problem areas, and provides feedback to analysis/training staff about performance considerations/usability issues concerning software specifications and implementations. Recommends, schedules, performs and coordinates software improvements and upgrades. Facilitates and participates in code reviews. Seeks training and development activities related to the industry. Develops, integrates and upholds standards, processes and procedures for the department. Establishes and fosters relationship within the department.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university in the field of computer science or software engineering; and/or twelve or more years equivalent work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of twelve years software development experience.
  • Five years’ experience in the financial industry preferred.
  • Working technical knowledge of programming languages, including .Net Core, C#, ASP.NET Core, Java, Spring Boot, Maven, MS SQL Server, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, Angular, Typescript, NPM, Cloud technologies (Azure Functions, Event Hub, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure APIM, Azure Key vault & AWS), Container technologies (Docker & Kubernetes), Source control repositories (Azure DevOps and GitHub), CI/CD (Azure Pipelines, GitHub Actions), REST API, Micro services, IDE (Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, IntelliJ), SSIS, SSRS
  • Extensive database and operating systems experience with Microsoft Windows.
  • Hands-on software trouble-shooting experience.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Proven technical knowledge and resource within the company who can lead multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Possesses in depth business knowledge of the Bank and its systems and works on large, specialized bank-wide projects.
  • Proven ability to work with minimal or no direction or can direct the work of others in a team environment.
  • Multi-lingual, a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic/complex instructions given from written and oral sources.
  • Ability to write basic/complex correspondence.
  • Adept at writing and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals.
  • Translates abstract ideas into concrete requirements.
  • Proven analytical and creative problem solving skills.
