What You Will Be Doing:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Automation Engineer to support our Jefferson expansion project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process and food manufacturing, with expertise in drawing development, execution/audit, specifications, RFP/RFIs, construction execution, and validation of installations to 2D/3D models. This role requires technical oversight and support for capital projects, ensuring successful implementation of electrical, controls, and automation engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead electrical, controls, and automation engineering and design for Capital Projects, collaborating with Corporate Engineering, Factory Engineering, and 3rd party consultants.
  • Execute electrical, controls, and automation engineering deliverables, including diagrams, layouts, safety logic tables, construction specifications, and scopes of work.
  • Develop project scopes, support project scheduling, and create RFPs for engineering services.
  • Oversee and support engineering deliverables from Factory engineering, local project teams, and consultants.
  • Respond to RFIs and provide support during the construction and commissioning phases.
  • Provide technical coaching and training to engineering resources and consultants.
  • Review and approve project drawings, participate in Factory Acceptance Tests, and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Maintain knowledge of engineering standards and guidelines.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field AND 5+ years of experience with control systems design in a food, beverage, or industrial manufacturing environment.


  • Associate degree in Engineering or related field AND 7+ years of similar experience.
  • Experience with large, multi-million dollar CapEx projects.

Desired Skills & Experience:


  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Strong communication and writing skills.
  • Proficiency in PLC (Rockwell Automation, Modicon) and PC-Based HMI/SCADA (iFIX and Ignition) design, programming, and implementation.
  • Competency in Safety Instrumented System design and validation.
  • Competency in PC operating systems and industrial networking.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to read and interpret control schematics, wiring diagrams, and power distribution diagrams.


  • Knowledge of Electrical Safety and Hazardous Energy Control Procedures (HECP).
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electric Code) and electrical installation practices.


  • Familiarity with machine risk assessments and power distribution.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Competency in Siemens PLC design and implementation.

Pay:  $66.50 – $95 /hr.
