What You Will Be Doing:
This SQL Server database admin is more than admin – he/she is an expert in knowing ETL and SSIS package/job development, maintenance, and architecture for jobs/tasks communicating and working across multiple databases and environments. We have emergent needs to re-architect and re-write some critical ETL processes that pull data from our source applications, and feed all of our supporting applications and mandatory reporting needs – driven by federal requirements, state statutes, and departmental and organizational policies. This admin also is key in understanding what database design issues exists, and how those can be corrected to best create modern, stable, reliable, and consistent data, data flows, and data processes. Further this person will create documentation, diagrams, and data/process flows that explain the ETLs. This person will review existing ETLs to identify concerns and mitigate risks in new ETLs/SSIS packages. This person is collaborative, but open to feedback and understanding of business needs.
Required Skills & Experience:
- SQL Server 2019 (or greater) ETL/SSIS expert developer
- ETL flow documentation and flow-charting
- Architecting transactional, yet multi-threaded/user, ETL solutions/jobs and flows of jobs
Desired Skills & Experience:
- A candidate that has experience with moving SSIS packages out of the “msdb” and into the “SSISDB”
- A candidate that has experience with SQL Server version upgrades
